Lake Placid

Lake Placid is the winner of the “Rural Community of the Year 1995” and “Outstanding Rural Community of the Year 1996”. This small city, situated on the high rolling hills of the southern ridge, offer a slow-paced, rural lifestyle to many residents who have fled the more-hectic pace of large cities.

Lake Placid is set amidst the industries of agriculture. The heart of the southern central citrus region, Lake Placid also produces over 90% of the world’s caladiums.

Lake Placid’s traditional downtown area offers residents and visitors a peek at the past, in the form of about two dozen murals, depicting the heritage of the town.
